Bottom 8th, Finn gives up a lead off single and 2 walks to load the bases with 2 outs. The runners move up on a wild pitch bringing in a run. Game tied at 2.

Finn gives up another walk which loads the bases again. Another walk brings in a run. 3-2 UNCW.

Finn comes out of the game, Garbinski takes the mound.

Garbinski gives up a single that drives in 2 runs and puts runners on the corners. 5-2 UNCW.

Another single drives in another run, followed by another single that drives in another run putting runners on the corners. 7-2 UNCW.

The runner at 1B steals 2B. Garbinski finally gets a strikeout to end the inning. 7-2 UNCW.

I called it a Nater Tater here on the BY minutes after he hit his first one. UConn Baseball X is stealing my material. Any lawyers on this site? 🤪

Top 9th, Belisario gets a 2 out double, but the UConn offense has a scoreless inning. UNCW wins 7-2 and takes the series.

These teams combined for the series must have set a record for total strikeouts.

For many years I listened to various UConn sports games on WHUS radio, the UConn radio station.

I have been listening to Chris Jones doing UConn games since the year 2010 when he became a student at UConn and starting broadcasting UConn sports games on WHUS including baseball and other UConn sports. The following year he became the sports director at WHUS for the next few years. Chris Jones has been broadcasting UConn baseball games ever since that time.

I also recall listening to Chris Jones when he was broadcasting games in 2016 for the Connecticut Tigers, which was a minor league team in Norwich at the time.

Interesting, in the UConn starting offensive lineup yesterday, only 3 of the starting players were with the team last season. Those 3 players were Dalena, Belisario, and Tirado. And none of these 3 players were regular starters last season, all 3 of them only played a little bit last season.

Don’t know what Penders is doing. We are not hitting at all. That is what it is. But for the second straight Saturday, we had a lead going into the late innings and he didn’t go to the bullpen for the best arm(s) we had available and ready to go. When you can’t hit a lick, it shouldn’t take analytics to do everything you can to protect a late lead when you have one. Very disappointed. So both Shaw and Finn are fresh, but we could lose or win by a large amount where they’re not needed
if you've seen Finn this year you know he's all over the place. That was before yesterdays shit show
