I do wonder about all of this. Biggest concern is that players who have been there aren’t performing. Same thing last year. Big East preseason POYs and first teamers completely stiffing. Regression is one thing, falling off a cliff is another.
Not catching fly balls is nightmare stuff.
 
Maybe the experiment isn’t working. Grabbing D2 transfers and trying to build a team.

BC has minimal transfers. Built it through NEast long term development. Look at their roster.

We can’t get out recruited in the NEast. We are.

This isn’t accurate. Half of BCs starting lineup and starting rotation are transfers including several of their best players and several who transferred “up” from lower tier schools. You need both to succeed and neither UConn nor BC have taken a significantly different approach in that regard.
 
is the second game on any tv or stream? Looks like it’s MiXLR or nothing for the first.
 
Bottom 1st, a 1 out single by Menzel, he moves to 2B on a wild pitch, Righi and Wachter get 2 out walks to load the bases. The UConn offense has a scoreless inning. No score.
 
Top 2nd, Pudvar gives up a leadoff solo homer. 1-0 SDS.

Top 3rd, after hitting a batter with 2 outs, Pudvar has a scoreless inning. 1-0 SDS.
 
Chris Jones says a number of players are suspended from playing in this game due to missing a mandatory breakfast meal this morning. Sounds like they will be available to play in the game after this one later today. We will see.

Cancel gets a 1 out double, with 2 out Cancel moves to 3B on a wild pitch. He is left on base.
 
Top 4th, Pudvar issues a leadoff walk, the runner moves to 2B on a throwing error by Pudvar on a pickoff attempt, the runner moves to 3B on a sac bunt for the 1st out, a run scores on a ground out for the 2nd out. 3-2 UConn.

With 2 outs Pudvar gives up 2 singles, but is able to leave the runners on base.

Shaw walks the next batter. Shaw gets a ground out to end the inning. 5-4 UConn.
