As it turns out, there are 600 of us! And the font used was so small I couldn't make out my name from where I was sitting. And I just got a new prescription last month. UConn Football!
Hope 600 grows

Well, that was a short and edgy presser.
Very much so, he sounded majorly displeased. He said they should have had 35-39 points by halftime. It seemed he had a long cordial chat with the SHU coach after the game, but this sudden run up the score mentality by Mora...hmmm.

UConn won because they have better players. I agree with Mora, UConn should have put 50+ on SHU and you are not going to beat FBS schools with the offense like this.

On a positive note, UConn's has won 2 in a row vs. in-state NEC teams. Also, this was the largest margin of victory for UConn over an FCS team since 2011.

But I’m not sure why fans really expected more than that. The results vs. FCS opponents (9-2) since 2011 are not very impressive.
  • 2023 – Sacred Heart (NEC) W, 31-3 +28
  • 2022 – Central Conn. (NEC) W, 28-3 +25
  • 2021 – Holy Cross (Patriot) L, 28-38 -10
  • 2019 – Wagner (NEC) W, 24-21 +3
  • 2018 – Rhode Island (CAA) W, 56-49 +7
  • 2017 – Holy Cross (Patriot) W, 27-20 +7
  • 2016 – Maine (CAA) W, 24-21 +3
  • 2015 – Villanova (CAA) W, 20-15 +5
  • 2014 – Stony Brook (CAA) W, 19-16 +3
  • 2013 – Towson (CAA) L, 18-38 -20
  • 2011 – Fordham (Patriot) W, 35-3 +32

From 50,000 feet and a couple days down the road, four TD passes to four different receivers including a couple pretty good strikes downfield, 35 rushes, 35 pass attempts. roughly 200 years each, and a win by 28. What's not to like?

Well, it came against a rebuilding FCS team. Those are the kind of stats UConn should be putting up against its peers, not the present SHU level of competition. The result was entirely indicative of the level at which UConn has played this year. I will go out on a limb and predict that UConn will not beat UMass. I hope to be pleasantly surprised and proved wrong. But I am not expecting it.

Hate to say it but I feel the same way. We just don't move the ball or score enough and the D is vulnerable on the back end, partly due to lack of a pass rush.

Both punters? We are screwed next year... :)
All kidding aside. Caratan was one of our best and most important players this year. He flipped the field in our favor a lot. Doesn't he get another year for COVID? That said McFadden is also a punter so maybe he has double duty next year.

No doubt. Caratan will be missed. McFadden to punt full time and Ruelas for place kicking works for me.
