UConn v. Sacred Heart ~ 3p @ J.O.C

Thinking there will be an update - it's a mess. Susi, Lefevre, Stefanski, etc...

Good 1st inning by Ronnie.

We are facing a kid with a 7.00 ERA. Do not make this guy look like Nolan Ryan please.

.-.
Poulin has a 1-2-3 7th inning. He continues to do well late in this season.

.-.
8th inning, Poulin gets out of a no out, bases loaded jam with no runs coming in.

Aside from the weekend starters and John Russell, Poulin seems to be one of the few pitchers that Coach Penders has some confidence in. At least Poulin is allowed to work out of tough situations.

Sam Nepiarsky in to pitch the 9th. I was beginning to wonder if he was hurt as he hasn't pitched in a while.

It may have just been Sacred Heart, but possibly the best thing about this win is that John Russell didn't have to pitch.

We cannot hit bad pitching. We just can't.

Pitchers continue to be able to grind, which is good.

It is safe to say that Isaac Feldstein is out of his slump. Still, it would be nice if the offense depended on players other than Feldstein and Yahn. Toppa has been showing signs of emerging as well, but he isn't quite there yet.
