It maybe closer than we expect. Ohio State gave Uconn fits in Springfield last year. Very athletic, quick defensive team. Lots of movement and screening on O. Uconn pulled away in the end but it was only in the teens and seemed closer.
 
I wouldn't underestimate Ohio State. Different coach, different players - they had ridiculous success last year, especially considering the injuries they endured. They remind me a bit of Kentucky - just don't know if they can harness the talent into disciplined offense AND defense.
 
When these two teams played in December 2013, it was a sloppy game in which tOSU did play some good D. UConn was never in any danger of losing, but the 21-point win seemed disappointing. Then again they followed that game up with a 22-point win at Duke. KML was back and nailed seven treys.

I just hope the game affords Geno the opportunity to get Lou and Napheesa in the game for sound tactical reasons. I want it to seem to make sense to put them into the rotation and what that does to and for the Huskies.

Mitchell/Alston combined for most (52%) of OSU's shots last year and most (55%) of OSU's points. Both Moriah and Kia will be busy. OSU will likely play zone (or some kind of junk defense) as there's no way they can match up with Stewart and Tuck inside. OSU last year started 4 (5-7/5-9) guards and 6-3 Hart. Lou at 6-3 will have opportunities to shoot over the zone.

That's true for both teams. UConn played 7 in that game and 3 (Stewart, Jefferson and Chong) are still on the roster. Craft, Alston and Blair are the only holdovers for OSU.
 
Early season games are tough to predict, but this UCONN team will hit the ground running and OSU will have a very difficult time with all the UCONN scoring Machine......UCONN by 30+.........
 
If Hart and Cooper stay out of foul trouble, a big if think it will be closer then 30!!
If it is next year at Ohio State I would take that bet!! Stewart is an awesome player.
 
Hey I'm not crazy, Connecticut is a machine. But Ohio State will have a really good starting five next year. Again Huskies are the model that everyone is trying to emulate. Just think that would be a good game...

Agreed. I think UConn wins, but it ain't going to be easy. And Ohio State will probably with their Conference going away. They're my Elite Eight dark horse Final Four.
 
I think it will be a good experience for Ohio State to get used to playing UConn on a regular basis, home and away.
