I'm listening with headphones at work and my ears are rining from these OSU fans screaming. They must be right behind Jonesy at this glorified high school field.

There are also times this weekend where Chris Jones is almost drowned out by either crowd noise or from the loudspeakers, especially between innings.

Top 4th, leadoff hitter Studley reaches base on an infield error and Garbowski singles for his first hit of the season to start the inning. With 1 out, Smith walks to load the bases for UConn. Morton sac fly ties the game at 3, all runners advanced on that play, but nothing more comes of it. UConn hitters have struck out 7 times so far this game.

Listening to the guy choke near him is appealing as well

Bottom 4th, with 2 runners in scoring position and 2 out, Braden Quinn coming in to pitch. Quinn with a walk to load up the bases. Strikeout ends the inning, game tied at 3.

Clutch Quinn.

Quigley gave up a lot of singles. Not a great result for him but a lot of it was bad luck.

Top 5th, UConn offense with a scoreless inning, game tied at 3.

Coe and M. Quigley warming in the bullpen.

Bottom 5th, bases loaded (including another walk given up by Quinn) and no outs, M. Quigley coming in to pitch. A walk brings in a run, 4-3 OSU. Garrett Coe now taking the mound for UConn.

The UConn weekend starting pitchers last season threw plenty of innings, and issued very few walks. Those guys are all gone.
They made it look easier than it is, given the pressure of the moment and the relatively small strike zone in d1.

Bottom 5th, a one out double drives in 2 more runs, 6-3 OSU. Another walk loads up the bases again. 2 runs score on a ground out, a failed double play, 8-3 OSU going to the top of the 6th.

Chris Jones has mentioned more than once how the strike zone has been shrinking as each game progress in this series.

Fair point but watching on FloSports, most of our misses aren’t particularly close (at least the ones they actually show )

Bottom 6th, Coe walks the first batter, and out of the game he comes. Will Nowak takes the mound.

Bottom 6th, Garbowski throws out a stolen base attempt for the second out of the inning. Nowak comes up with 2 strikeouts for the other outs. 8-3 OSU.

Top 7th, a double play ends the inning for the UConn offense, with the minimum 3 hitters coming to the plate. 8-3 OSU.

Top 8th, UConn bats go down in order. 8-3 OSU.

Fogell coming in to pitch the bottom of the 8th. Third appearance of the series.

Abbadessa warming up in the bullpen.

Bottom 8th, back to back singles plus an error on Simmons put 2 runners in scoring position with no outs. A 1 out single drives in 2 runs, 10-3 OSU.

Freshman Jude Abbadessa coming in to make his UConn debut on the mound.

Abbadessa gets the next 2 batters out to end the inning.

I’m sure Penders will let us know in the post game, but how many times have we K-d today?? Seems astronomically high.
