The UConn Huskies will welcome Miami University to the XL Center for a pair of post-Thanksgiving non-conference games this weekend. Saturday's game will be broadcast throughout Connecticut on CW20.

The Huskies and RedHawks meet on the ice for the first time since the 2017-18 season when Miami took two from UConn on their home ice.

This team has taken its fair share of criticism and sometimes rightfully so. But tonight they showed a heart that was missing earlier this season in coming back and out working Miami. Heck of a win hopefully this can give them some momentum for follow up game today.

Good game I thought. First period UConn looked like they were suffering from too much turkey, slow kind of lazy play. But they came out firing in the second and really dominated play except for the final 2 minutes when they got very sloppy. Dominated the 3rd though.

Met a couple of Miami players in a restaurant after the game getting dinner with family and friends. They commented on the quality of UConn’s defensemen. Big fast and tough. Not something I expected honestly.
