UConn v. Memphis @ J.O.C - Friday 4/7@ 3p, Saturday 4/8@ 1p & Sunday 4/9@ 11a

Typical Montgomery first inning...don't know what it is.

4-0 lead for Memphis so far. Usually Montgomerie is able to get out of his 1st inning troubles with only 1 run scoring, so this is much worse than the norm for him.

Jesus Willis...he definitely needs another year of college baseball.

Just doesn't make sense. First 2 on in bottom, have to answer.

.-.
LeFevre almost got unlucky with that laser, then the 3rd basemen throws it away. 5-4 UConn.

Memphis error by the 3B scores two more runs to give UConn a 5-4 lead in the 1st inning.

The even better news about this inning is that Crosby threw 38 pitches this inning.

Montgomerie needs to lock them down here.

Catcher LeFevre picks off his second Memphis runner of the game in the 2nd inning, giving Montgomerie some help.

.-.
Memphis retakes the lead, getting ugly out there. Going to the bottom of the 2nd, 6-5 Memphis.

Doesn't sound like either starter will be long for this game.

We have 2 singles and a line shot by Yahn that was unfortunately hit right at their 2nd basemen so far this inning. The offense has shown up today, let's score some more runs.

.-.
Gnesda is turning back into what he was last year (a glorified Justin Smoak). He has to give us better at bats than that. 6-5 UM heading to the 3rd inning.

CJ Dandeneau relieves Montgomerie to start the top of the 3rd inning.

A Dandeneau walk eventually scores off a sac fly. 7-5 Memphis with UConn coming to bat in bottom of 3rd inning.

Surprise, surprise. Lead off walk, passed ball and another run by a relief pitcher.

.-.
Good contact in the bottom of the third but we keep hitting the ball right at them.

Bases loaded - 2 outs... Tiger pitching change.

Toppa flies out to right.

Still 7-5 Memphis

Toppa flies out on a 3-2 count. We keep getting runners on and not scoring them. This looks like another one of those games.

Another 1-2-3 inning for Dandeneau in the 5th. He seems to be on the comeback trail after having a few absolutely miserable games.

.-.
