Muszelik was ok last weekend but goaltending is the issue this season and will continue to be the issue going forward

Staff messed around with Sergeev instead of giving him the full time job, he transferred, and now they have to deal with the consequences

I was wondering if Heaney should get the start tomorrow…now I know he should.
I would be really surprised if Heaney will play at any point. He is a third stringer

I thought the power play looked good earlier…I was wrong.

Given the injury, you’re most likely 100 percent correct.

Boy, I could not have been more wrong about our pp.

.-.
I don’t ever want to play at this barn again,

The team will know what they have to work on in practice next week. They didn’t play terrible. Just need to strive to get better everyday. Put this game behind them and get ready for tomorrow’s battle. Holy Cross did a nice job. Tip of the cap to them.

Given the PP was 0-6 at that point, I thought the goalie should have been pulled and gone 6 on 4. It was a bit early, but it made sense to me.

.-.
I'll keep saying it, we should be forcing the issue on PKs the way they were. Constantly Right in our grill daring us to make a big play to make them pay.
I get not wanting to do that to very talented defensemen, but this isn't BC or BU talent we are playing tonight.

Three consecutive losses to Holy Cross…HOLY CROSS! Another great power play.. 0-6.

Their skaters played well during 5 on 5. On the flip side In every other facet they were terrible. If they were just average on the power play Or penalty kill. Or if their goaltending was average, UConn leaves with at worst a tie on the road

I really didn’t think goaltending was an issue. Not sure any goaltender would have made the save on any of the power play goals. The 4th goal was just a crazy bounce off the glass.

At Cav’s preseason presser, Cavanaugh said he put Peruzzi in charge of the penalty kill and Peruzzi is going to “spearhead” recruiting.

One thing that I would like to know is if Peruzzi was the power play coach at Northern Michigan

Northern Michigan had the 19th best power play in the country last season.

UConn: 59th out of 64

If Peruzzi was in charge of the power play at Northern and Cavanaugh did not put him in charge of the pp at UConn then that is a head scratcher to say the least.

The second goal was legit. Top shelf from an angle.
Maybe my standard is high but goals 1 and 3 should have been stopped if the goalie was good. There were no deflections involved.
The fourth goal was some weird pirouette where he dropped to the ice after the save off his shoulder and they shot over him. I would have liked him to stay up. At the very least 2 of the 4 goals should have been stopped.

6 wins in 20 games against AHA teams under Cav since joining Hockey East. Two in the last nine.

But @CTBballfan243 wants us to just tip the old cap! To everyone!

So is this the worst goaltending we will have since we entered the hockey east?
The loss of Sergeev this year is absolutely brutal
transferred to Penn State - missed that.

He’d be on the Titanic while it was sinking saying “Well, at least we got halfway to New York.“

I think if Cav doesn’t get to the Garden this year he needs to look for a new address. Even at its best the UConn power play has been mediocre and it hasn’t been good for a while.
