Bottom 8th, Rispoli leads off with a walk, Polemeni gets a 1 out walk, Righi follows with a 1 out 3 run homer. 11-8 UConn.

Marshall gets a 2 out infield single, Tirado follows with a double but Marshall is thrown out at home plate for the final out of the inning. 11-8 UConn.
 
Changes in the UConn outfield, Wachter moves to LF, Belisario takes over in CF, and Taylor takes over in RF. Righi and Polemeni come out of the game.

Entertaining series against the only team in this conference that is any good.

We go on the road next week, but anything less than 3-1 vs Bryant and Butler would be disappointing. Bryant won’t be a layup…however, Butler was absolutely savaged by a very average Wichita State team earlier this year to a tune of 77-16 in a 4 game series.

O.K., starting with 2 out of 3 against X and Creighton puts us well on the road for the Big East tourney and with a head in front to win the conference regular season. Now let’s see if we can get rolling. This is not a good UConn team but Delano and Rispoli starting to hit again will make us better than we’ve been.

Good start but all is for nothing unless UConn wins the Big East tournament. Big East will be a 1 bid conference. .

Yes, the Big East will be a one bid conference. No, winning the big East regular season is not “for nothing.” It’s one of the goals for the season when you start.

also, the 1 seed could be HUGE, with X and Creighton facing off as the 2-3. Let's keep the momentum going.
