UConn wins 9-1, Ward throws a complete game.

I didn't have a chance to hear much of the game, but I did hear Chris Jones say that Eric Yavarone is out with a wrist injury.

Yavarone missed last two temple games with same wrist. He had a brace on it now guessing he will be out min week or two.

- Blake Davey has now reached base safely in 16 straight games but snapped his team-high 10 game hit streak.

- Brian Ward set a new career-high with 9.0 IP The senior LHP had previously recorded 8.0 IP in two games. He is now tied for 10th in program history with 214.1 innings pitched.

- The complete game was UConn's first since Anthony Marzi delivered a complete game win in the BIG EAST Tournament Championship game.

Next up, the Huskies hit the road when they travel to Earl Lorden Field for a Tuesday showdown at UMass. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
