In what way? They do not pass much and their pass protection is weak. So are the QB's a run threat?
Haston is a legit running threat. Hairston, as a freshman, has done a coomendable job throwing against some tough competition including Miss State, Liberty and Georgia.

So you’ve watch both their QBs play? What leads you to believe they’re more effective than ours?
I haven't seen either one. Basing my opinion on stats in the few games they have played against tough competition and positive comments I've read on the UMass board. Do you think our QBs are effective runners? I don't. And neither one is a consistently effective passer. Each has had his moments but we don't win games on the arms of either QB. We win with our ground game and D, which is hopefully enough to get the job done again on Saturday.

Well, we did in fact win the UAB game on the arm of Fagnano. Not sure you’re making a valid point.

Like I said, each has had his moments. I'm just suggesting that if we get outplayed at the most important position on the field, well, that's not a good thing and increases the possibily of a (gulp) loss. We'll see what happens on Saturday.

The game is won in the trenches. I like UConn's chances. While it has been frustrating watching UConn's QB's, I have confidence they will be good enough. Sometimes spectacularly good, sometimes not so much. But good enough.

-> "Obviously, it's a big week for us," Bell said. "We've got to finish off the regular season strong after having that bad taste in our mouths off of last week. We got to do the work and get better and be ready to go Saturday."

-> UConn and UMass have one common opponent — Buffalo. The Huskies routed the Bulls 47-3 on Sept. 28 while the Minutemen were hammered by Buffalo 34-3 two weeks earlier. It's the first time this season that UConn and its opponent had a common opponent entering the game. <-

-> UMass is averaging 12,650 fans per home game entering its final appearance at McGuirk Alumni Stadium with a high of 16,102 for its Oct. 12 game with Missouri. <-
