UConn @ UCF - Friday 4/21@6:30p, Saturday 4/22@1p & Sunday 4/22@11A

Let's get some action up in the 'pen. Gotta stop the bleeding.

After giving up the hits, looks like Montgomerie has lost his control, walking in a run to make it 5-3 in the 4th. Holmes is warming up in the bullpen. Sac fly makes it 5-4. Montgomerie strikes out the next batter to finally get out of the inning.

Montgomerie walks the tightrope in the 5th, loading up the bases with two hit pitches, then gets out of the inning unscathed. 5-4 UConn going into the 6th.

6th inning, Montgomerie gives up a two out homer to tie the game up at 5. That's it for Wills. Trevor Holmes is now coming into the game.

The luxury of scoring 1+ runs on one swing is nice. I wish we had even a little bit of power. UConn ranks 275 out of 295 in homeruns and 213 out of 295 in slugging percentage.

Power is a nice luxury indeed. However, at this point I would settle for UConn getting batters on base on a consistent basis.

Dan Rajkowski is in to pitch the bottom of the 7th. Holmes did well in his stint, no doubt he will get more chances in tight games.

.-.
Russell picks up his 11th save of the season, and UConn picks up the win!

.-.
Important win for UConn's NCAA tourney resume, as UConn doesn't have many wins against RPI top 50 opponents.

All the more reason to limit mistakes in the field and on the base paths. Unfortunately for us we are a bit deficient in those areas as well.
