UConn @ UCF - Friday 4/21@6:30p, Saturday 4/22@1p & Sunday 4/22@11A

There will not be a no hitter tonight. Krueger leads off the 6th with a triple to get UConn's first hit of the game. No shutout either as he scores on a groundout to make it 8-1.

Domnarski gets his turn for mop up duty in relief of Rivera in the 6th, stays in for the 7th.

I sure hope stat tracker was just wrong. Prato had a 3-0 count and it said he swung and missed on both 3-0 and 3-1. Please tell me he didn't.

Andrew Zapata makes a rare appearance getting an inning of mop up duty in the 8th.

To be able to tolerate Feldstein striking out this much, he needs to start hitting a few more homers.

UConn takes a 1-0 lead on a Feldstein single. Going to the bottom of the 1st, need Montgomerie to bring his A game today.

Gnesda's single and Moriarity's double puts 2 on for Hill with only 1 out. He absolutely has to play like a senior here.

A deep sac fly scores Gnesda. Good work. 2-0

Winkel drives in two runs with a double in the 3rd inning. 5-0 UConn.

Gotta like what we see early today. Playing with more passion.

Count me as one who likes the visuals. I'm quite happy to have Aaron Hill and some more experience back in the lineup, and good to see that he contributed that sac fly. Still, important to remember that Anthony Prato is the one and only newcomer/freshman to the everyday lineup who has been making consistent contributions all season with the bat. I would not want Prato to be out of the lineup for long.

Fantastic day at the plate so far. Gotta love Winkel coming up in a spot (2 outs, RISP) this team has struggled with all year. Hopefully this gives them some confidence they can build off of.

Also helps that their pitcher does not seem as sharp as last night, and that Montgomerie seems to be on top of his game so far.

Montgomerie has 5 strikeouts and 30 pitches thrown through the first 3 innings so far. In some of his starts he has had 30 pitches thrown in the 1st inning. He is on his game today. 5-0 UConn through 3 innings.

The pitcher we saw today is normally money. We really owned him though.

Montgomerie has to keep it up.

We all know that UConn will only go as far as the starting pitching takes them. The first two games of this series is living proof of that, in both directions.
