If they win this year Syracuse would be tied for 9th on this list (37). UConn of course is on this list 4, er 5 times. It sure was nice winning in '92, but I'm so glad we gave Duke their mascot back and brought back the Husky. ;)

Arizona beating 3 number 1 seeds in 1997 is the most impressive to me. Behind UCONN 2014 of course. :)

If Wisconsin hangs on to the lead in 2014 against UK, we play a 2 seed instead of an 8 in the championship game. Wisconsin may have been a slightly tougher game from a matchup perspective, but UK had something like 8 or 9 McDonalds all americans on the roster, and was probably was near the top as far as raw talent goes. Interesting chart but there's a lot of missing detail behind the numbers.

I thought we really lucked out in 2011 with the other side of the bracket being VCU and Butler. Butler was a nice story, but not nearly as good as they were the year before. They were completely outclassed by our speed and length in the second half. We made them look like a mid major and it may have been a complete blowout if not for some first half foul trouble.

That would have brought a total sum of seeds played down to 22, 11 less than #2, '93 UNC.

Persepective - add 11 seed points to the 33 that earns 2nd place honors and you are tied for 24th.

They got this one wrong...
"6. 2014 Connecticut is the lowest-seeded team to win a national title since the field was increased to 64 teams in 1986. It’s also the only team to face just one team with a lower seed."

As a 7 seed, we played #10 St. Joe's in the first round and #8 UK in the finals.

So we have 5 NC's now? Our 1992 championship was tied for the 14th hardest run. I didn't like our logo that year.

Right? It's like they're portraying us as some kind of devil...

Well they didn't get anything right then. The field was increased to 64 teams in 1985. And in 1985 8th seeded Villanova beat Georgetown for the title. So 2014 UConn is actually the 2nd lowest seed to win the title.

They also screwed up the math with our 2011 team, which should be part of that tie for 11th place. We were the 3 seed in West region in 2011, so it seems rather unlikely that we would have played a 3 seed in the S16... SDST was actually a 2 seed that year, which would have made our point total 38 instead of 39, which would be good for T11.
