UConn @ Top 15 ECU (Thur. 4/18 @6:30p, *Sat. 4/20 Double Header> Game 2 starting @ 9a followed by Game 3*)

ECU goes out west and gets swept by #1 UCLA (close games). They clearly weren’t going to have a let down weekend this weekend. Our games in Greenville were close until this Wallace inning (and arguably winnable if we had any semblance of an offense after Friday).

Obviously we will sweep UCLA & other teams in the Los Angeles regional to complete the Circle of Suck ;)

Kyler Fedko solo homer in the 9th. Nice to see, no matter the score. 2 hits for Kyler today, so hopefully it is the start of something better.

Only four runs , I have seen weirder things happen. Maybe Wallace can start flipping some coins in the dugout to give us some fortune.

Kyler now above .200 on the year, for what it's worth (.202 batting average)

Funny, I was just checking the UConn stat page, thinking Kyler had just cracked .200. To me it is something, it is progress at least in the right direction. Thinking Kyler should at least D.H. during the midweek games, that is, if he doesn't play right field.

Considering he started off his career 0 for 20 something it is a great bounce back.

Oh well ... Swept, but hung around each game. Need to bounce back and continue to improve and play a full team game.

Well, game over. We'll see if ECU continues to trample over the rest of the AAC during the rest of their conference schedule.

Obviously in our best interest for ECU to sweep the rest of the AAC. Need to get above 500 in conference or we will get snubbed as an atlarge bid.

Currently UConn is sitting at 28 in the RPI, although that could bump up or down a spot or two as results come in today. So the team is still ok there, but yes, the Huskies do need to get over .500 in conference play. UConn gets a week off from conference play, playing next week at a solid Sam Houston State team. Need to take that series to regain confidence and to help the RPI. But when UConn comes back to AAC play, they have back to back home weeks against Wichita State and South Florida, who are both currently in the bottom third of the league. UConn needs a bunch of conference wins over those two weekends. A 4-2 record over those two weekends would be bare minimum, but I would hope for 5-1 against those two teams. After that UConn closes with a tough weekend at Tulane.
