After a deep European influx of talent, Illinois looks like a top-25ish team entering next season, led by the 7'0 Ivisic brothers, Andrej Stojakovic and the veteran backcourt duo of Kylan Boswell and Ty Rodgers.

Not at all, its because the nations marquee teams play a marquee out of conference schedule. See Duke, Kentucky etc

That said, in my humble opinion, nothing beats Maui. Three games in three days, all in a gym smaller than most high schools. If you can make it out there, tickets (at cost) are never an issue (go in the morning, get a standby wristband, never get shut out). And when we win, it’s electric—when we lose, the beach has a way of making everything okay - plus, it's only November.

Yeah, Maui is a cool experience for all who can make it. But with the way things are changing in the current landscape of college sports, the way we’re scheduling just makes more sense. We’re easily going to sell out MSG twice and TD Garden as well, way more fans will get to go to these marquee OOC games as opposed to Maui or the Battle 4 Atlantis. Also allows us the flexibility to schedule more true home/away OOC games, and we don’t lose money on these trips. Sadly, the days of Maui and Atlantis having stacked fields are probably gone for the near future, the NIL tournaments are the new big attraction

I am excited about what our nonconference is looking like but I wouldn’t sleep on any of the teams that were playing. Everyone of those games are gonna be close. I still hope we can go find a European who’s got some size and girth in case Reed goes down or is injured. I do like to make up of our team otherwise.
