There is a professor at Uconn that is developing a time machine

It looks like we are taking getting into a P5 to another level. What mis-steps in our past could we have changed to get us out of the problem we are in.

Obvious answers are:

Stopping Blumenthal from suing the ACC
Not hiring Pasquenlony as a Football Coach
Perhaps missing the field goal so we don't get killed in a BCS bowl

What else can could we have done?

Started playing teams like WVU, Cuse Pitt, RU, BC and PSU back in the 60's and moved up to D-1A when the 1A/1AA split came about.

If you had 120 trillion dollars
Who needs a conference?

The Harlem Globetrotters need the Washington Generals. The UConn Trillionaires need some hapless patsies.

Stop saying it was Blumie's lawsuit. He was just one of many players. And from what I recall, the lawsuit gave the league time to stay intact. Without it, would there have been a league that year?

Well, the league got a waiver from the BCS to play with 7 teams that season. That had nothing to do with Blumie's suit.

However, I will concede, that it was probably Blumie's suit that kept BC in the league for one extra year letting us play with at least 7 after UConn agreed to move into the Big East a year earlier. We were supposed to replace Temple the next season, but once Miami and V-Tech bailed we were accelerated entry.

Could have kept our western lands (Ohio). That would give us enough eyeballs.

1) Hand out a Sports Almanac or two to Hugh Greer.
2) Slip a few political journals to Abraham Ribicoff.
3) ?????
4) PROFIT!!!

Sure, but then our state capital would be...Cleveland?
