UConn & the AP/Coaches Poll

With the Coaches poll out for the 2017 season I had the thought... After making the polls 6 times between 2007-2010 in the Big East, how long until we return to the polls? And is it even possible in a tough conference that does not have the national prestige of the old Big East?

Just FYI the Patriot League actually began as a football conference and remains one today.

Meaning, ranked in preseason, at any point during season, after season? Can it be "others receiving votes" or ltd to top 25. I see us getting a mention in "others" in next 3 years. The challenge for us will be we typically begin seasons under appreciated. Combine that with a conference the P5 is hell bent on relegating to 2d tier, and it will be difficult to climb in to top 25. But I like the new path we are on.

I think our absolute ceiling is to finish in the top 25 once or twice every five year recruiting cycle. Hopefully we can realize that under Edsall at some point.
