Connor Lane is indeed getting hot after slow start with the bat with Norwich. In addition to getting his 3rd RBI in the game today, Lane had 3 singles and a walk today.

In the last game that he played with Norwich before today, Lane had a single, a double, and 2 walks.

Funny that UConn has 3 players who can play at the catcher spot in the Futures League. Gabriel Tirado with New Britain, and Connor Lane and Mike Oates both with Norwich.

Oates has been having a tough time at the bat so far this summer season. Lane just had a nice improvement offensively, hoping that Oates will follow suit.

DH: Tyler Minick (Mystic, UConn)
Relief Pitchers: Greg Shaw (Valley, UConn)

Also: Outfielders: Niko Brini (Newport, Wofford)

nice to see him throwing strikes! Kid's got a pro arm.
It was wild to watch him and the (now-transferring) Turner come in late in game one against FSU and throw straight gas. Even the broadcasters seemed pretty stunned. Of course, neither could throw a strike, but as you mentioned if Finn is able to find it he’s got immense upside.

Braden Quinn was the only Husky drafted this year, 14th round by D'Backs.

Was hoping Pirates would take a flyer on Korey Morton in a late round. They could really use OF depth at A/AA with at least some hope of offense.

So if folks were wondering if this team was lacking talent compared to prior years, versus players simply not performing up to par, organized baseball has now weighed in on the debate. Kudos to this group for rallying through the Big East regular season and playing great at a regional, but this was a far less than average UConn club in terms of talent. It’s great that we accomplished what we did with almost no pitchers you could actually count on, and too many holes in the order against good pitching, but we need to bring the talent level back up.
