UConn stats.... welcome to the party Blanca..!!

Until week ago Blanca was just “the kid joining a team full of stars".
She’d have to adapt, she “couldn’t shoot the three,” “hadn’t played at a high level,” “we’ve got Shade, Ducharme, her ceiling is Griffin…”
One good game later and suddenly you’re ready to hang her banner on the walls!
Relax. Let the kid walk her own unique path in peace.
We just can only enjoy the ride!
As I mentioned earlier let’s wait until we have about 20 games completed and then we can assess where each player is. It’s a long season; if I recall correctly we did not fully gel as a team until after game 24, the Tennessee loss, last season. These players need to solidify their own identity and role as well as learn to play together with different combinations against real competition and it will take time.

Sorry for nitpicking because you know I love your effort but Azzi's nine TO is over 4 games. Blanca's 6 is just in two. Geno, of course, was exaggerating but her passing does need to improve. And it will.
She's also made some passes that maybe only Paige or Sarah could see/make.

Sarah, Serah, and Blanca give UConn a defensive backline that is big physical, and talented on both ends. Why do you think Kayleigh is the defensive adjustment and not Blanca? All Blanca needs to do is get use to her teammates and when she does she will be the 3rd best player on this team. Have you seen how big and strong she is? She learned basketball the European way, not the American high school way. How many teams have a wing player that size? Going against 18-22 year old will seem kind of easy after spending the last few years going against WNBA type players many in their mid 20's to mid 30's.
One of the Huskies' only defensive issues is giving up more 3's than normal. If there is a need for a big lineup, Geno should get Blanca in there ASAP, but otherwise a true guard helps against the typical 3 guard lineups UConn normally sees. Blanca still overly speeds up when bringing the ball down the court-another reason why a true ball handling guard may in UConn's best interests. Great to see Blanca succeed based on her physical strengths, but watching the game as a 6th player will benefit her in the future. Doubtful the top 10 teams will let her dribble the entire length of the court.

One example that supports both of us...Ohio State was scoring almost at will in the first quarter and also pressing us. The first off the bench were Kayleigh and Blanca, entering the game for KK and Ashlynn. I thought that this was both a defensive adjustment to help shut down OSU's shooting and an offensive adjustment because we wanted more scoring punch.
We don't know the reasons but maybe the future games will.
Also, I can see Blanca starting if she continues to improve quickly but don't know if Geno would remove Ashlynn as a starter.
But these are just my opinions, so...

She is so much faster than what I was able to pick up on in her highlight tapes I was shocked especially when realizing how tall she is. I feel like, at least speaking just for me, her upside is even more sky high than I initially clocked for her. So so excited to have her on this team specifically.

You’re being given a free chat room, free bulletin board, freely given information but it’s not good enough so you’re going to complain? How about asking politely instead of complaining or maybe looking it up yourself

I thought I had apologized. NISE is a great stat. I just had a little difficulty finding it. My bad. No offense was intended.
