The first 6 games of the 2025-26 season have had a little bit of everything for UConn fans. Here are some of the more interesting stats for your viewing and commenting pleasure:
1. Azzi is torching the nets with a 51/55/100 shooting rate. (Overall shooting %/ 3 pt shooting/ free throw %) The standard for excellence is 50/40/90.
2. Blanca says, to quote the popular expression, "guarda mi cerveza" (hold my beer). BQ is shooting at a 60/55/100 pace..!! (In 4 games)
3. Sarah Strong is leading the team in baskets made (46, tied w/ Azzi), rebounds (59). assists (30), steals (18) and blocked shots(16).
4. Team three point shooting has improved to 35.2%. The last two seasons saw 38% and 36% from three point range.
5. Kayleigh Heckel leads the team with 13 personal fouls and most times ending up on the gym floor.
6. KK has an crazy assist to turnover ratio of 4.8 (24 assists vs only 5 turnovers). Sarah is at 4.3 w/ 30 assists and only 7 to's.
7. Six players have made every free throw attempted. Azzi (11), Blanca (4), Serah (3), Kelis (2), Caroline (2) and Ice (1).
8. The Huskies have 85 steals in 6 games or 14.2 per game. (Last season was the highest in years at 11 per game.)
9. Including last season, Geno & the Huskies are on a 22 game winning streak..!!
Next game is Sunday, November 30 at Xavier on FS1 at 2:30 pm.
