UConn travels to Cincinnati on Saturday for the first of seven February games. All the games are against AAC conference opponents. Here's some UConn/ Cincinnati statistics for your pre game meal:
1. UConn has outscored opponents 1,008-521 in the 1st half of their 22 victories this year. Teams playing UConn are averaging only 23.7 pts in the first half.
2. UConn has 189 blocked shots and 230 steals. That makes 419 possessions when the other team failed to even get the ball to the rim. In comparison, opponents have only put the ball through the rim 420 times.
3. With 484 assists on 710 baskets, UConn's assist average is up to 68.2%. In the last 3 games, UConn has 80 assists for a 79.2% average. (Passing to Stewie helps.)
4. TLAW leads the team in 3 pt shooting percentage at 42.1% (8-19). Keep in mind she comes off the bench, w/out a chance to warm up.
5. MoJeff has played 631 minutes and has only 36 turnovers. She also has 117 assists, 64 steals, 62 rebounds and 5 monster blocked shots. Her 216 points gives her an average of 9.8 per game.
6. Cincinnati has blocked 61 shots this year. Stokes, Stewie and Dolson have 57, 57 and 54 blocks respectively. Stokes blocks a shot every 7 minutes.
7. KML has made 32 three pt baskets (32-79), but only 6 free throws (6-6) in 377 minutes. Saniya Chong is 21-26 in free throws in 396 minutes.
8. Bria Hartley is 2nd in scoring (343 pts), 2nd in assists (106), 2nd in steals (42), 2nd in field goals made (131) and 2nd in free throws made (43). She is 1st in made 3's w/ 38 and 12th all time in scoring at UConn.
9. Stewie has 66 assists and 36 steals vs only 37 turnovers. She also has 173 rebounds and 57 blocks vs 39 fouls. Good stuff = 332, Bad stuff = 76
10. UConn averages 45.8 pts in the 1st half, only 38.5 pts in the 2nd half.
