The Butler game had a scoring run/defensive stand by UConn that may have been one of the best ever. With 6:56 to play in the 1st period, UConn was down 10-6. Butler was 4-4 from the floor. The Huskies then went on a defensive stand and offensive explosion that lasted for 9 minutes and 45 seconds. Score after that was 45-12.
Here are the stats:
1. UConn scoring 39 points
2. Butler scoring = 2 points
3. Butler turnovers = 14
4. Butler shooting = 0-14
5. Butler fouls = 4
With the score 10-6, Butler went the rest of the 1st period (6 minutes, 56 seconds) with no scoring. They then went 2 minutes and 49 seconds of the 2nd period scoreless until they made 2 free throws. The Huskies went from from down 6-10 to up 45-12. Wow..!! One of the best defensive stands ever & the offense was not too shabby..!!
