She can impact any game quickly and be as great as she wants to be..!!

Blanca is the Guardian Angel that came to Uconn to do magical things few freshmen have ever done and that is to win a National Championship in their freshman year. Blanca has certainly played a gigantic role this season, but few freshmen? Sales, Strother, Barbara Turner, Hayes, Doty, Faris, Stewart, Tuck, Jefferson, Chong, Nurse, Samuelson, Collier, El Alfy, and Strong all won as freshmen, and some played even bigger roles than Quinonez has done so far (I counted 14 others not counting walk-ons, but they played much lesser roles).

Blanca introduced herself to the college basketball world with her 2 games in Fort Worth. Her game helped Huskies when others were struggling. She could be X factor going forward. South Carolina knows Azzi, and Sarah, but Blanca is going to figure large in final 4.

I think we all knew Blanca was going to be great at some point. Heck, a man on a flying horse could have seen it. Her natural talents, her size and her speed and courageous spirit are that obvious. It was only a question of when she would begin to put it all together. Thank goodness it’s happening now.

Her perimeter shooting is the thing I didn’t expect. But the rest of it, the defense, the sneaky quick hands, the transition track meets, finishing at the rim with either hand, I think no one could have missed those things. All that remains on offense is to develop a better midrange game. That and powerful rebounding is what separates her from where Sarah’s game is. Whatever happens next week, we can all begin to see what next season is going to look like,

After first learning that this Ecuadorian kid from Italy was coming to Storrs, subsequently watching some of the videos of her Euroleague play, I started referring to Blanca as “the X-Factor” before she ever appeared in a UConn uniform. I expected great things from her.

But I must say that Blanca’s outside shooting has been a revelation. In yesterday’s game, ND did everything possible to neutralize Azzi and Sarah. That left Blanca free to roam the 3-pt line. Her 4 made 3-pt shots were as important as anything in securing UConn’s victory over the Irish.

I think Kayliegh can turn the corner on the elbow screen and hit the foul line pull up with success. Its why I think she will make the starting lineup next year. Plus her 3 point shot along with KK's can be a weapon next year.

Thank you for a much detailed answer to my post. I like statistics very much, mainly because I don't have the computer savvy to dig up the statistics. When I posted Blanca doing what she has in her freshman year, I was giving her credit for being third in points scored to help Uconn get to where they are now. Being that this is Uconn that we are talking about, I SHOULD have realized that there were MANY that did it. Thank you again. GO HUSKIES!!!!

Absolutely. So many times, Azzi and Sarah would pull two or three defenders into the paint with a drive, and left Blanca wide open on the perimeter for a kick out. Reminds me a lot of what happened with Paige, Sarah and Azzi last year

Where did I say otherwise? I merely pointed out that many freshmen have played a substantial role on national championship teams.
And if you're putting her ahead of Stewart, Strong, or Collier already, you're jumping the gun.
