So now they look at RPI to see who gets the tournament invite.

As expected, almost no second place finishers from the "minor" conferences were included in the tournament. Instead the field was filled with teams from the SEC, Big 12, PAC 12 and the ACC.

Which is entirely correct. Based on any metrics you want to choose, those teams from the major conferences are better than the runner-ups in conferences such as the Big East. UConn, for example, was ranked 82nd by Massey and was 77th in RPI. Not close to at-large consideration.

12 out of 13 teams from the SEC seems excessive, but it's like that every season. They probably leave one out of purpose so people can't say everyone from the SEC made the field. Pac 12 got 6 out of 9 by comparison. Big 12 got 4 of 7. ACC got 6 of 13. Big 10 only got 4 of 14. It's ludicrous how much the Selection Committee kowtows to the SEC. And their performance in the last 2 Tourneys has been dismal, so they don't come remotely close to justifying it.

Insane though… I want to think it was accidental.
Just looked like she went all out on a short hit and didn't see or expect the 1B to be in the running path. Once she saw her it was too late. Hope both are ok.
