Opens at 21.5

No total yet but I'd guess over 70.

Holy mackerel. That's an unreal opening.

If I had any faith in our defense at all, I would say to lay the mortgage down on that bet. I think our offense will score.

The question is; can we get stops??? I sure hope so...

With our secondary issues that game has the potential for a very long afternoon.

The O will need to be at its best.

The way we have been playing in the second half, figure you gotta take the points there

I would take the under and SMU.

For years, I've been able to pluck money taking the under with UConn.

This may be the first time I take the over any time it's 60 or less. I think UConn scores this year fairly regularly. The second half of HC and against both UVA and ECU, UConn has shown it can move the ball and get points.

Back in 2012, there were many on this board who were horrified we would be in the same conference with SMU. Now we're 0-3 lifetime against them and three TD underdogs.

I'm still horrified and the fact that we are 3 TD dogs isn't making me feel any better.

Don't forget their bb record

SMU is ranked 68 by collegefootballnews.com. That's where we should be; I've always believed our "mediocre" years would be between 50 and 70, with our good years better than that.

Maybe I was too optimistic.

Quite the coincidence...that's about the same spread as SMU-UConn basketball games.

Just playing with you guys. Good luck this weekend.

I haven't watched a ton of their games but what I have seen they look better than 68th best in the country to me. They have been pretty much just taking care of business so far and were a handful for TCU.

FWIW, the total is 73/73.5 depending on where you look. Last week first FBS game with a total over 60. This week first over 70.

It is by no means clear that UConn does indeed have an offense. They have not yet faced a real defense. This game should provide some meaningful data. I think the O/U on UConn's offensive output should be at 18. JMHO.

It's pretty much (73-19)/2 - so the market put it around 27.

What gives me hope - not that we can win, but that we can cover - is that Ben Hicks really isn't very accurate, isn't very mobile and that SMU kinda looks like a better version of us. Their offense is pretty good and their defense is pretty bad. (Their passing defense is awful.)

Three touchdowns seems generous.

My concern is we can score 35 and and give up 56

Yes. I'm in Dallas and I watch SMU. 56-35 is a likely scenario and a logical prediction (which means we'll probably get a 21-10 defensive struggle).

Sometimes he doesn't have to be precise. He can just throw it up and Courtland Sutton can go get it.

To me, SMU is a known quantity. UConn is not. I wouldn't bet this game, even with someone else's money.

Well, the expectations here are rock bottom so it could one of those WTF wins like Houston. You just never know when a switch flips.
Yep and so that is why I will watch with a small amount of hope.
