Collier was the MVP and it was an easy pick.

“I think she averaged 33 points a game. We don’t have the same group of kids as in the past,” Rolfes said. “She’s a senior and she’s a leader for us.

“She’s just a tremendous player. She’s a big time player. She’s the best kid St. Louis has ever had. If people haven’t seen here they need to go out and see here. She’s something special.”

Was it ever decided how to add Andra to the Thread? Last I heard we were hung up on her nickname.

Napheesa is "the best kid St. Louis has ever had."

People across the country will get to see her next year and thereafter. And they will wonder, "Where does Geno get these kids?"

Boykin Injured.........According to recent local reports ( Jan/6/ 2015) , De'Janae Boykin has missed the last 2 games of her season with an injured shooting hand. She has also been nursing recurring ankle and knee ailments.... Her coach does expect her back in the near term.

No report on the extent of the injury to her shooting hand.

Thanks. We knew she had a sprained wrist, which is probably the hand injury, and had missed 2 or more games. I did not know about the leg issues. I'll go watch her when she's back.

Milford, I don't tkink she has ever rested and healed from the summer. I just hope she gets some down time after the season before heading off to Storrs for summer school. a good player but could be just wearing down from all the balling.

Rest is important. Look at Maya Moore playing a shorter season in China, Sue skipping the Euroleague, etc.

Crystal Dangerfield scored 17 on Tuesday (1/6) in a 65-42 win for Blackman.

Incarnate Word won 63-25 Wednesday night.

In less than 3 quarters of play, Napheesa Collier scored 29 points and had 14 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals, and 2 blocks. She hit 13-16 FG's and 3-4 FT's.

Out-scoring the opposition again! And shooting better than 75%, just like Mirgan and Moriah.

Couple of updates from recent games:

Napheesa Collier had 27 points, 13 boards, 5 blocks, and 3 steals last Thurday. She shot an unlike-her 10-21 from the floor, but 2-3 from three, and 5-6 from the line.

Katie Lou Samuelson had 27 points last Thursday and on Saturday had 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 steals.

Marcelo Enriquez said Samuelson is one of the best players he has ever seen at the high school level.

"She shoots so well. She gets the ball off so quick."

On Saturday KLS and Mater Dei play Miramonte with Sabrina Ionescu in Stockton. Should be a fun game to watch.

Another huge game for Napheesa Collier Monday, this time against the #1 ranked small school in St. Louis. IW came in #2.

36 points (13-20 fg/ 9-11 ft), 18 rebounds, 3 blocks

Hoping ochoopsfan or one of the other California posters might have info on last night's Mater Dei game. I know they won handily, but I can't find anything on Lou other than she had 10 points at the half.

I was going to go but didn't. I believe Lou scored 17 points.
I will try and make Thursday game but many of these games are very one sided.

Here is a link to the OC Register(no relation to OC Hoopsfan) article on last nights game. The OC Register normally requires a subscription to read it. So if the link doesnt work here is one paragraph from the article on Lou. Mater Dei won 51-18. By the way, the team they played, Junipero Serra HS(in San Juan Capistrano) has 2 D1 girls on their team going to Pepperdine and UCSB next year. One didnt play last night as she is coming back from a knee injury.

Samuelson scored a game-high 17 points, but did so on 6-of-19 shooting. The scoring total was a season-low for Samuelson and well below her season average entering the game (31.5 points per game), but Mater Dei still dominated after the first quarter to win its 55th straight league game.

Yuck. Maybe I shouldn't have asked.

Thanks for the info.

I like that Napheesa gets to the line a lot. She'll put up lots of points for UConn.

Crystal Dangerfield scored 12 points during a January 9th game and had 24 in a 72-50 win last night.

KLS scored 26 in an easy Mater Dei victory Thursday night (1/15).
Lou didn't play the fourth quarter, didn't play the last two minutes of the third quarter and sat out another two minutes in the first half.
Mater Dei won 70-35.

Incarnate Word romped to victory too but there is no box or report yet.

Napheesa Collier's numbers from Thursday's 65-23 win:

29 points (14-23 fg), 16 rebounds, 5 blocks, 2 steals, 2 assists

.

On Wednesday, Andra Espinoza-Hunter scored 11 points in an easy Blair Academy victory.

Prime matchup between Mater Dei and Miramonte tonight: KLS vs Ionescu

Mater Dei has opened a big lead in the second quarter.
