According to John A. we just handed UNC the largest loss in their history. Previous record was 49.

Honestly, the way they played, they deserved it.

Just think what the margin would have been if KML was hitting her wide open 3's. KML made only 3 and she was wide open on her misses

This had the potential to be 100-30.
You knew Geno was gonna take his boot off Sylvia's neck in the second half (no pressing). I think there's genuine fondness and respect there.

Before this game.... I was trying to decide whether or not to order tickets tonight for the UConn game in Durham. I was thinking of taking a coworker to see her first NCAA women's game. Now after watching tonights game...... im not sure I want THAT game to be her first introduction to Duke Women's Basketball.

Last year I was laughing and gloating at UNC after their loss to UCONN.... and then UCONN ended up giving Duke a worse beating then they did UNC. I should have learned my lesson...... but Imma still gloat for a while longer

The other record that fell was the fewest points that UNC ever scored. The old record of 44 was shattered by 9. Yikes!

After watching UNC lose to UConn by 51, I'm not sure how the same team was able to beat Miami, win at UVA (something Tenn could not do) and take Md to overtime.

That doesnt look good for the ACC

Mercedes Russell (2013) plans to visit UNC in March. It's really a lovely campus.

Its not THAT lovely of a campus. But then again.... i could be a bit biased :D

UNC actually has some real talent, so they can match up well with a lot of teams. But the coaching is just not very good, so when their talent is not better than the opposition's, they can look pretty bad.

It's kind of sad seeing them fade like this.
And now backing out of the rivalry as Tennessee did.

Not UNC's choice. They would prefer to keep it going. It's UConn's decision to only have 2 ACC out-of-conference games.

Just a note of reason re UNC - Uconn has put a spanking like this on a number of pretty good teams, especially in our house. When we are on, it can just snowball and I think that is what happened tonight. UNC has been dealing with a lot of injuries so they are having some chemistry issues, and for 3/4s of the game Uconn was just playing really good basketball (except for KML's 3s :()

Playing against UConn on a night when we are on like in the first half is like trying to push water up hill. It just isn't going to happen.

No, Sylvia wants to continue the series. It was Geno that decided to play Maryland instead of the Tar Heels.

Was there any input on this decision by ESPN?

Rebecca implied that the UConn-UNC contests haven't been competitive for the last few years and that Geno wanted a change.

If we went to the ACC we might not play a competitive conference game for a long time.

Too bad the game was not on CPTV. Can you imagine how Bob Picozzi would have gotten off talking about all these records (UNC worst loss ever, fewest points ever, UConn streak at home/Gampel, etc., etc.)? And Meghan: "Ho-h0 HO!" while Kiah racks up a double-double.

Would have been the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow for those two.

We'd just have a stronger OOC schedule. ;)
