Not sure if everyone enjoys these write ups, but I like doing them so here's UConn/Rutgers fun stats...

1. The five longest home game winning streaks are UConn w/ 99, Stanford at 82, and Tennessee, UConn and Baylor all at 69. In addition to owning two of the five streaks, UConn ended the other three w/ victories. :p

2. UConn has been tied or ahead in the score 96.4% of the time in their 18 games. UConn still has not been behind in the 2nd half of any game.

3. Beating Baylor gave UConn a 24 game win streak, going back to last year. That is their 6th longest ever. There are 13 regular season games left, along with up to 3 AAC tournament games.

4. Rutgers has scored 1,091 pts in 16 games or 68.2 per game. UConn has scored 1,506 points or 83.7 per game. Rutgers has 259 total assists while UConn has 378.

5. Rutgers has taken 88 three point shots and made 22 (25%). UConn has made 126 three's including Hartley w/ 25, KML w/ 23, Chong w/ 19 and Stewie w/ 17.

6. UConn is now shooting 49.7% from the field and 76.2% on free throws. Rutgers is hitting 45.3% from the field, but only 62.1% on free throws.

7. MoJeff has been outstanding so far this season. She is first in assists (84), first in steals (46), fifth in rebounds (52), fourth in made field goals (73) and fourth in points (187). She is shooting 56% from the field and 79% on free throws. :)

8. UConn has 161 blocked shots on 1,092 opponent shot attempts (14.7%). They also have 186 steals. Opponents will have their shot blocked or the ball stolen once every 2.07 minutes.

9. Rutgers has a 6'4" forward, Rachel Hollivay, w/ 50 blocked shots in just 16 games. Stewie has 49, Dolson has 48 and Stokes has 46 in 18 games.

10. Saniya Chong still has only 13 turnovers in 346 minutes. Brianna Banks also has only 16 turnovers in 339 minutes. That is a turnover only every 23.6 mnutes.

Go Huskies..!!!

Our statistics on blocked shots are just nasty :)

Any idea what the UCONN team record is for blocked shots in a season? And are we on pace?

David - don't stop! Enjoy these posts.
Posted elsewhere, but with the numbers to date - Moriah is on track to be close to having 100 steals and rebounds, 200 assists and 400 points. If she reaches those numbers it would be an awesome year and might be a statistical first for Uconn?

1994-5 with 250 total blocks. They are on pace to get 300+ if they play 40 games and blow that record away. 1994-5 was a 35 game season so 7.14/game, this year is at 8.94/gm so they should break the 35 game mark before 35 games played.

I believe Baylor has the all time NCAA record for blocks (308 in 2012=2013) so UConn could have the all time block record along with four other all time records. Highest win total in a season =40 (tied with Baylor 2011-2012), All time lowest FG% Defense 30%(from UConn's 2009-2010) Lowest points allowed defense 46 (UConn 2009-2010) And finally most All Americans in the starting five - 4 Stewart, Dolson, Mosquita-Lewis, Hartley

So I decided to do a little quick research and found only one player who hit those levels:
JenR hit those numbers her senior year steals 112, rebounds 126, assists 222, points 418
Maya. DT, Sue, Rene, Sveta, Sales were other players I checked and they all failed to reach those numbers in any of their years.
The rarest of the numbers is 200 assists (and the biggest stretch for Moriah to reach) - done three times by Sue - 231, Jen - 222, and DT - 208
Then steals - six seasons - 3 by Sales (and one 98 steal year), 2 by Rita Williams, and 1 by Rizzotti (and one 98 steal year). Sue and Kelly are next each with a year of 96 steals (both in 39 game NC years.)

She is actually on target for everything except assists - if her teammates do not improve their shooting she will end up at 188 or so if Uconn plays 40 games. She is making about 10 passes to a shooter every game so if Uconn plays 40 games she will get 220 more assist chances. Currently her teammates are hit UNDER 50% on those passes coming in at 46.7%. She needs 116 more assists so they need to start shooting 52.72% on her passes - they can miss a few more shots on passes from other teammates, but they need to start stepping up on MoJeff's passes.:rolleyes:

On Edit - playing 39 games sure helps and if they get to 40 this year it gives Moriah an extra chance. Jen had her season for the ages playing only 38 games

David, if someone has to do these boring write ups, it might as well be you.

Your sense of humor is why you are a quasi-mystical character in the BY, on your way to becoming semi-legendary.....:)

Well - I am happy to report that Moriah's teammates obviously read this post and stepped up today - on her 'ten' passes today the shot 80%!!!
