Once again Hale gets a midweek pitching start after getting weekend pitching time out of the bullpen.

Bottom 1st, after a 1 out single and a 2 out single, Hale has a scoreless inning with 2 strikeouts. No score.

One thing I have noticed over a number of years while paying attention to UConn baseball, it is very rare for them offensively to have lefty batters back to back with each other in the lineup. There is almost always at least one righty batter in the lineup between the lefty batters.

Top 2nd, after Wachter leads off with a single, the UConn offense has a scoreless inning which includes a double play for the first two outs of the inning. No score.

Bottom 2nd, with 1 out after an infield single and a hit by pitch, Hale has a scoreless inning, a double play ends the inning. No score.

Top 3rd, after Jemison draws a 2 out walk he moves to 2B on a wild pitch, Belisario follows with a walk, the UConn offense has a scoreless inning. No score.

Bottom 3rd, after a 1 out single and the runner moving to 2B on a wild pitch, followed by a walk. Hale has a scoreless inning. No score.

Bottom 5th, with 1 out Hale gives up 2 doubles bringing in a run. 3-1 UConn.

Another 1 out double puts 2 runners in scoring position, a ground out for the 2nd out brings in a run and puts a runner at 3B. 3-2 UConn.

Hale comes out of the game, Shaw takes the mound.

Shaw gets a ground out against the 1st batter he faces to end the inning. 3-2 UConn.
