Didn't know Rothstein likes UConn this much! I could do this but not that fast. The 1 year I can't remember much about was losing to OSU in the 2nd round in 1992. I swear I have no recollection of that. I'm not sure why.

We got out to a 12-point lead and lost by 23. Not a great day

We looked so good in the early part of the half and people were saying how other conferences couldn’t compete with the physicality of big east basketball. Then Jimmy Jackson and freaking Lawrence Funderburk beat the crap
Out of us. Calhoun ended up benching Smitty to end his career because he was so bad. Awful game.

Edit- found box score. Smitty was 3-15 for 8 points in his final UConn game. Gross.

It's all Francesa's fault. He was a studio analyst that year and he got on at halftime (w Jim Nantz by the way) and proceeded to say "UConn is playing better than any team in the tournament".

We got waxed in the 2nd half and he was never heard from again on TV as a college BB analyst

Yep… Mike at that point was this hotshot college basketball genius during the tourney. Didn’t think then he’d soon be talking about snowblowers and passing out listening to Sweeney Murti.
