After a loss, some fans like to dissect the game and analyze the players while others think to themselves, “I’m going to support Our Girls and go to the game”. Nothing wrong with either approach but I think there are more in the second group than the first. It helps that the game is at 1:30 on a Sunday when the kids are out of school and looking for something to do

I will be there as well!

A sellout is unusual at XL. Weekend games always draw well at both locations, though.

Last year on Sunday afternoon 12/31 against Marquette it was almost a sellout, well over 15,000. (Capacity 16,294.)

Women's basketball is definitely growing in popularity. As always there will be a lot of young kids, and old folks like me today. I don't know if the growth is coming from simply more of them/us or if other demographics are catching on. Probably a combination.

I'll be there to verify, but to have a sell out at the XL against Providence is very unexpected. I guess the Paige and Sarah show are gaining support and momentum. Thrilled to see it, go Huskies!!

Ticket demand is up this year. The all-games allotment mostly sold out.

I agree with Nan's analysis
but also (as previously noted)
I detect a resemblance
to 2012/3...Stewie's first year

Losses to top teams (3 to ND)
But Geno held them together, taught them how to win
And at the end, they dominated.
it's not impossible, that that tale will be revisited.

I understand geriatrics like me prefer the hot dogs at the XL, but I wish home games were truly home games and took place at the greatest basketball venue in college sports. XL is about as warm and friendly as a tire center.
RockyMTblue2- - I agree! I wish all the games were at Gampel!
Even tho at this stage of my life I can't drive to the games, can't afford the games, and can't sit in a seat for 2+ hours!

The Georgetown game had 15,6xx. That was a sellout, too, no?

Also, SoCal.
