UConn Pro Day coming up (3/21/18)

I hope this guys shows well and gets a shot to play on Sunday. Although he’s unlikely to be drafted, if he can run in the 4.4s, someone will invite him to camp. I’ve heard there were a few teams that were interested, including a team that takes guys with his skill set and makes them household names.

Only shot Newsome has is to be a real gritty utility guy ala Danny Woodhead. Doesn't have Sproles or Lewis speed or slipperyness. But his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield will give him a chance.

Arkeel doesn't have elite high end speed. But he gets to that top end quick and has everything else, burst, quickness, vision, toughness, durability, hands and ball security.

Just for reference Arkeel did as many reps on the bench as Bo Scarborough (RB/Alabama) who’s 6’2, 228. Looking at the RB numbers from the NFL combine, Newsome, for his size, did well compared to the 32 invitees.
