Geno admits mistake in going with small lineup at the end of regulation. Should have had Stokes in the game. Have to agree, but who knows if Kiah would be in position to get the rebound. It fell into Novasel's hand.

.-.
Geno took the blame for removing Kiah at the end of regulation, with the intention of being able to switch on all the screens, but then what would have saved the game for us was a defensive rebound. Instead , Novasel was able to snag the O-board to tie.

Geno said he made a mistake in not having Stokes in the game for the last possession in regulation. He said he wanted all guards to switch on screens but a rebound would have won the game. Interesting because on replay I was looking for Stokes and wondering where she was on the rebound. She was on the bench. I understand Geno's thinking but he said that decision will stick with him.

He also said he's proud of the sophs and freshmen who learned a lot tonight and will help them in the future.

Geno said the two things that will stick with him tonight is if Kelly had hit both free throws at the end of regulation we would have been up 3 and that changes everything. (Earlier he said Kelly would have been the hero and won the game for us b/c she came up so big in the last minute so this was definitely not a complaint)

He also said he made a big mistake by taking out Kiah and going with a 5 guard rotation to disrupt their screens. Geno said what we needed on that last play was a defensive rebound.

Lots of kudos to the freshman and sophomores. Thought the upperclassman made mistakes they hadn't made in a long time.

Actually Kelly made all 4 FTs at the end. Geno said that if Kelly's layup had gone in (it rolled off the rim) and she hit her FT UConn would have been up 3 which would've made for a different ending.

Kelly is really hurting, in the WTIC Post game show. You can almost feel, she knew they game the game away at the end and in OT. Got to feel for her and the rest of the team.

Tough game to lose and the older players did not have good game when they needed it most. I cannot wait until this October 12th for the Opening of the 2012/2013 season........Have a great summer.

According to ESPN stats, Kelly was 4-4 on the Free Throw line. Team needed to get to the Free Throw line, more then they did. Tiff should shoot more then 4 free throws.

IMO Kelly was the hero of this game. Tomorrow I'll bet she'll be more angry than hurt.

I agree. Kelly is the hero. She fought heart and soul.

Did they interview Tiff....?

No. Just Stef and Bria.

Both were stoic, no tears. Bria kept her head down in between questions but both appeared disappointed but not devastated.

Which describes how most of us feel here tonight.

Not sure if what he referred to was Kelly's play to steal and drive and shoot the layup on which she was fouled. The shot hit the heel of the rim and bounced out. She made two FT but that could've easily been a 3-pt play with 11 seconds to go and very likely would have been all she wrote. Magnificent game by Kelly. Great heart. She never surrendered.

Does anyone know when NCAA.com will have the whole postgame up to rewatch? I got there late and only caught the ND end.

Kelly saved us in regulation. Four pressure free throws and she nailed all four.

That says a lot that he didn't pick Tiff to interview...he was not happy with her in the huddle, apparently. I thought she played tough, she didn't score a lot but did get some big rebounds and steals.

I think Kelly made a bad pass with about 4 minutes left, but she was amazingly aggressive on both offense an defense to get us to OT.

Kelly did not have a great 36 minutes but was almost a hero during the final 4.

Stef came up big, Kelly was tough and clutch at the end, Kiah gave us terrific minutes in Stef's time on bench. Bria and KML wer solid. Tiff had a tough game with the TO's. It was a tough, physical game that came down to not being able to grab the rebound with 4.5 left.

He said if she hit the SHOT and then the free throw.. She missed the layup but made both free throws.. Kelly had ice in her veins at the end of regulation

No, I mean WTIC in the locker room............

I thought the press made the request of which student-athletes are to appear.....?

Tiff may not have been in any shape to face the press...she knows she didn't play to her own standards. I feel bad for her...whether she had a great game or not so great, she always left it all on the court, all season long--her whole career, in fact. She is a warrior and will be missed.
