UConn Possible Recruits

I was at the Northern California high school championship which Archbishop Mitty won. Some of the AM fans told me that Haley Jones, a sophomore forward ranked no. 11 by Hoopgirlz, received an offer by UConn. Does anyone know if this is true?

Entirely possible but not likely because she has not visited the UCONN campus yet and UCONN does not like to offer until the recruit has visited. There are three wings (Haley Jones, Breanna Beal & Sammie Puisis) in the 2019 class of identical height 6'1" all top 5-10 type players that it would make some sense that UCONN pursue 1 of them because KLS and Napheesa will have graduated before they come to campus. The UCONN priority for the 2019 class appears to be Samantha Brunelle, @6'2" she can also play on the wing.

Looks like UConn has made contact but most likely no offer yet:

Phillips said she has fielded phone calls from virtually every top college coach in the country. Coaches from about 20 schools have come to Mitty to recruit Jones -- everyone from Connecticut to Notre Dame and many more.

Bramlett also said college coaches have raved about Jones.

"The comments I've gotten from coaches," Bramlett said, "have ranged from saying she's the best stretch-four prospect they've seen at her age to calling her a natural playmaker and comparing her to Magic Johnson because of her size at point guard."

Last thing I heard about Jones was that UConn watched her during the Nike TOC in December.

I will say that Jones seems like a UConn type player: cerebral, unselfish, versatile

Don't forget 2019 5'10" guard/wing Celeste Taylor from LI Lutheran..........awesome athlete, CD was watching in NJ the
last time I saw her play

Some people confuse contact with an offer. Let's keep our ears open and see what happens.
