UCONN Players who will win the NCAA Championship
- MUST HAVE Paige Bueckers, without her, forget it.!
- Core players with most minutes: Paige, Caroline, Azzi, Nika, Aaliyah, and Dorka (The Magnificent Six)
- These players never take a play off and are not complacent. Best chance to out score a team. Their shooting from distance will spread the floor. The ball won't stop. They are very good decision makers. They are consistent! They share the ball well and play selflessly as a team
- #1 substitute is Oliva for defense, some rebounding, and offensively, a high post scoring facilitator, with some opportunistic scoring by her
- Christyn and Evina sub in situationally and for loyalty minutes. If their shot is dropping, then let them play until they start missing. Consistency is not their strong point.
- Don't care who starts as long as The Magnificent Six get the greatest number of minutes.
- If the Seniors play the most minutes, then even with Paige --- no NCAA Championship!
There is quite a bit of recency bias within your post concerning this proposed Magificent Six. For example I'm not sure how someone could realistically look at the the last few games and roll out a lineup where Dorka and Aaliyah would
both get more minutes than Liv. Your Magnificent 6 also includes two of the worst three point shooters on the team in Dorka and Nika and this is NOT conducive to spreading the floor as you are wanting to do. This team's performance all year has been like playing whack a mole with rarely the same 2 players playing well in consecutive games or even consecutive quarters. For UCONN to win a championship this year 1 or more of those seniors is going to play the most minutes in these roles: ONO will be need to establish an interior presence both defensively and offensively facilitating from the high post. EW will be need to provide a spark off the bench & Christyn will definitely be needed because she is the teams best perimeter defender-see her defense on Caitlin Clark. As well as Nika, Caroline and Azzi are currently playing consider that this trio collectively has 2 games of NCAA tournament experience. Evina, Christyn, and Liv have played in 13 NCAA tournament games. One additional data point to consider concerning Christyn Williams specifically- she is quietly putting together one of the better UCONN NCAA tournament resumes. UCONN will need her to continue doing this to secure a championship. BTW Christyn Williams is shooting the ball from deep better than Caroline which is yet another reason to reconsider this concept of spreading the floor with shooters.
