UConn Players in TruTV Commercials

UConn getting publicity in several march madness commericals . The one with theUConn starters with goat in Invesco QQQ commerical, and the Solo Ball shooting the shot commerical, plus the one that has been running for several years - UConn fight song in a small mix of others.

One of my other favorites has been the Hamilton, Hamilton, ... winner commercial vs Washington Huskies.

I picture an ad manager tasked with a March Madness tie-in, who innocently asked AI, what is the college basketball capital of the world? "Storrs & UConn." Hmmmm, that's within driving distance of Madison Avenue. My work is done!

This commercial is so real. I’d feel the same way as the dad if my daughter brought home a guy that went to that school UConn didn’t play in 2006.

The Invesco and Intuit commercials look to me like they are national not just regional which would be pretty wild.

Are any of you seeing these from far away locations?
Seeing them all near Atlanta

The talk about finding mojo in the other thread .... well, I think this is it.

It's kind of remarkable to think about how many fans feel that way about us, that we've just casually dispatched along the way. We are white whales for:
  • Washington (1998, 2006)
  • Gonzaga (1999, 2023)
  • SDSU (2011, 2023, 2024)
  • Kentucky (2006, 2011, 2014)
  • Duke (1999, 2004, though in fairness they got us in 1990 and 1991)
  • Alabama (2004, 2024)
  • Purdue (2009, 2024)

Is there any school that's on the other side for us? Maybe Maryland?

South Carolina reporting they're as frequent as political ads in a Presidential year!
Also, even though the men are only the sixth or so favorite by odds there is more betting on them than any other school, including Duke.

In the tournament, it would be Maryland and Florida. They are the only schools that has got us twice in the tournament (modern UCONN)?

Every one else feels like a one off:
UCLA, Mississippi State, UNC, Tennessee, NC State, George Washington, Iowa State, San Diego, Kansas, NMSU, Texas

Duke got us back to back but we got them when it mattered most

Florida shouldn’t count, our one tourney win against them stole their natty chance. Last year was redemption for them if anything

It’s March, companies want to align with winning brands that draw national attention, and UConn is a natural fit. The fact that both the men’s and women’s teams are independently featured in national ads says a lot about our strength as a brand.

I'm hoping that UConn and whomever else is representing the athletes is more of a proactive agent in getting this exposure than a reactive one.

For me, it's not about acknowledging the brand, it's about promoting the ubiquitousness of the brand to a targeted audience of ACC & B12 fans and decision makers
