A few tidbits from Amore:
Marzi Gets Another Day - After throwing 116 pitches on two days' rest to clinch the Big East tournament, Anthony Marzi is getting a full week before starting Sunday against Oklahoma on Sunday. "I really wanted to give him another day," coach Jim Penders said. "He threw in the bullpen and said he felt fine, but [pitching coach] Josh MacDonald thought he looked tired." So Jordan Tabakman got the start on Saturday.
Oklahoma will start Jake Fischer, who has started only five games so far this season, as it goes for the clincher in its 7 p.m. game against the winner of UConn-Virginia Tech.
Former Huskies star George Springer, who is hitting .300 with 16 homers and 16 stolen bases at Double A Corpus Christi, told UConn coaches he won a bet with teammate Austin Wates, who played for Virginia Tech, after the Huskies beat the Hokies on Friday night. Now Wates has to get a Husky painted on his chest, Springer told the coaches.
