No way I'd have LJ bunt. That's taking the bat out of our best hitter's hands.

Butler gets the DP. What a way to get out of it. Now lets win it.

You folks hear that screaming girl who keeps yelling at the first base ump "You'll look like an idiot on ESPN!"? She sounds like an idiot on ESPN. I'm beggin' ESPN to move the mic.

I did hear her, was hoping it would play to our favor. On to the 12th. Not getting the clutch hit to this point.

Looks like we've got some work to do.

The wheels really fell off there. Needed to get those 2 outs and hold them to 1 run. 2 down is going to be tough.

Just when I was starting to believe it might happen....

Disappointing but a nice try.

On to VaTech pt 2.

Hit the ball on the nose just right at the guy. Any other time if their not guarding the lines its a double.

Tough loss - had their chances. A scrappy bunch they are.

Wife's 50th... Missed from 5th to 11th. Caught 12th on iPhone WHUS feed on drive home from dinner. (Did have oldest son sneak to bathroom for an update once)

Disappointed but... Young team and I'm glad a few more peeps jumped on the UConn Baseball bandwagon.

String it out as long as possible. Really, really want to knock out VT and go from there.

In the same boat as you, medic, but I fought the urge to update. Just watched the replay on espn3 ... tough way to lose. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, take out VaTech tomorrow, and play for the title!

A few tidbits from Amore:

Marzi Gets Another Day - After throwing 116 pitches on two days' rest to clinch the Big East tournament, Anthony Marzi is getting a full week before starting Sunday against Oklahoma on Sunday. "I really wanted to give him another day," coach Jim Penders said. "He threw in the bullpen and said he felt fine, but [pitching coach] Josh MacDonald thought he looked tired." So Jordan Tabakman got the start on Saturday.

Oklahoma will start Jake Fischer, who has started only five games so far this season, as it goes for the clincher in its 7 p.m. game against the winner of UConn-Virginia Tech.

Former Huskies star George Springer, who is hitting .300 with 16 homers and 16 stolen bases at Double A Corpus Christi, told UConn coaches he won a bet with teammate Austin Wates, who played for Virginia Tech, after the Huskies beat the Hokies on Friday night. Now Wates has to get a Husky painted on his chest, Springer told the coaches.

That was heartbreaking. I also kind of hate the format that essentially punishes a winning-bracket team for going extra innings. Now Va Tech is actually fresher having been in the losing bracket. Oh well. Let's see if the boys can put 3 wins in a row together...
