“[The good grades] are credit to them,” Auriemma said on Friday. “They do all the work. They’re driven, motivated, and conscientious about it. It’s important to them, and we try to get those kinds of players or kids, players who have that as a huge priority rather than what their NIL and apartment look like. They understand academics are the reason they’re in school.
“We have a great support system here for them. Ellen Tripp, who handles all our academics, is just a real tremendous asset for our players. We stay on top of things. We’re never chasing things like, ‘Hey, we have a player in a jam. We have to go help her out.’ We try to stay on top of things so they can deal with the season and the travel it entails and still be able to do their work at a really high level.”
