Not a bad bracket. With Bueckers, Arnold, and Shade to help Muhl, a potential Sweet Sixteen against Ohio State looks less nerve-wracking than last year.

UConn’s not in Albany because Iowa is. They figure Iowa can be the draw, so they can ship UConn out to Portland.

I’m not wild about a possible second-round game against Fair, and let us not forget that they looked like they had never seen a press last year against Ohio State. (Although Rebecca rightly pointed out that this UConn team has three point guards, one of them being Paige.)

Guys, while UConn not being in Albany has to be a disappointment to all the Husky fans who’ve already purchased tickets to one or both Albany Regionals, including yours truly, the Portland bracket sets up as a real opportunity for UConn to make a run to the FF.

I am delighted. With Aaliyah back, Paige playing like Paige, Nika’s tenacious defense, the emergence of Ice, and the freshmen hoard, everyone else in that region will have their hands full against the Huskies.

They’d be a draw anywhere, but my point is that since they decided to put Iowa in Albany, they didn’t need to also put UConn there, too.
