Look it's great we out shot them but merimack came out in the third with a lot of energy that led to that back breaking goal. But how many times are we going to get there and fall short. Well as of right now we are in the NCAA tournament. But not liking our chances to making the frozen four since we will have to play Michigan state!

One critique I have is I think he waited too long to pull the goalie. UConn had some good ozone time a couple minutes prior to pulling Moose. Thought he should have done it then. He seems to like to wait longer than most coaches to pull his goalie. Definitely not a Pecknold in that regard.

It was just blind luck that they didn’t score after we pulled Moose. I didn’t have a problem with waiting. We were putting a ton of pressure on them.

“Merrimack came out in the third with a lot of energy.” Do you realize we outshot them 22-7 in the third period? Their goal was the result of a poor defensive turnover, not Merrimack’s energy or Cav’s coaching.

The Pioneers are slotted for Loveland as the host school. If they come in as the No. 5 seed, the bracket naturally aligns them with No. 4 Western Michigan in the opposite semifinal. If they slide to No. 6, they would instead draw No. 3 Michigan State.

This remains, to some extent, an exercise in reading the committee’s tendencies. But based on precedent, the expectation here is that Michigan State would head to Loveland if Denver is the No. 6 seed, while Western Michigan would land there if the Pioneers are the No. 5.

There has been some discussion about separating Western Michigan and Denver in the bracket. It’s an appealing idea from a fan perspective, and the committee could ultimately go that route. Still, it would mark a notable departure from a long-standing approach that has typically avoided manipulating second-round matchups to prevent intra-conference matchups.

Well honestly hockey east as a whole has done horrible with teams out west we are probably the only team that had two wins against teams out west. Well maybe they will prove me wrong!

Well, UConn had beaten them three times in this season.

But not the one that mattered.
 
Merrimack earned it so give them credit they took it from us, it’s still frustrating to go to the finals and not come away a champion. We got in though luckily and sometimes you need luck, Merrimack needed luck and we needed luck it in a Michigan win.

Home from Boston, so glad we still live to fight in the tournament. Obviously hated losing but I respect the hell out of Merrimack’s defense and fanbase after this weekend. The projections I’m seeing still have us playing against Sparty in Worcester, that’s all I could have asked for 2 days ago…
 
Third time I’ve gone to the TD garden to watch a loss on a saturday night. Throw in the penn state loss last year and im done traveling.
Also There is a larger percentage of Sox fans at Yankee stadium then UConn fans in TD Garden championship games. Doesnt matter the opponent

Guess I got lucky picking the semis to attend. I’ve been to 2 of 3 and got to see wins. I’m happy watching these games on tv these days, although I’m toying with the idea of going to Worcester if that’s where we land.
