-> “The reason why we’re here is because Hudson Schandor and John Spetz decided to come back for a fifth year. Plain and simple,” Cavanaugh said after Friday night’s win. “They won’t let these kids…they understand that we have bigger goals than winning our first NCAA hockey game. “We’re excited, and I think they should enjoy it, but we’ll get back to work (Saturday) and whoever our opponent will be, we’ll prepare for them.” <-

-> “We’re playing with a chance to go to the Frozen Four,” Cavanaugh said after Friday night’s win over Quinnipiac. “That’s enough motivation, I think, for everybody in our room and they’re just a really good group. All season long, as Hudson said, any type of adversity that we’ve faced, we’ve seemed to learn from it and grow.

“Losses aren’t failures all the time. You can learn a lot from a loss and sometimes they can really help you for later on,” Cavanaugh said. “We understand that Sunday’s game is going to be even more intense than tonight was.” <-

UConn hockey finally made it big time

Anyone get tickets through the school and know our sections yet?

Seems like 101-103 and 202-203 are your best bets for our sections, I got 102 before going to bed after coming back from Allentown

Assuming I can figure out a way to get my ticket into my wallet, I will be in Section 103 row 11. Also at the UConn pregame. Hope to meet up with some posters here.
I just bought Section 103, row 17.

Where are you buying tickets from the school, from the arena, or StubHub or some other secondhand vendor?

The question in my mind about tomorrow is, do we think that Sergeev's weaknesses are well known by the Huskies? Because there is nothing worse than facing a really hot goalie in the tournament.
I mean you can know a guy's weaknesses and not be able to do a thing about it.

Uconn is going to have to play their most solid game of the year and play more defensively stout than Maine did. The rest will follow

I went on Ticketmaster, not sure what it looks like on there today

I took a look from the event and there are still decent second-level tickets for 75 bucks. I may double check with the secondary market.

Good read:

-> As training for this season began, UConn men’s hockey coach Mike Cavanaugh was describing his two new goaltenders to captain Hudson Schandor. Callum Tung was highly touted, but a freshman, the coach was saying, and Tyler Muszelik was transferring from New Hampshire, where he’d been injured much of his time.

“We did not have an established college goaltender,” Cavanaugh. “I said to Hudson, ‘As long as we get good goaltending, I think we’ll be pretty good,’ and he said, ‘Is Vince coming back? If he is, then I’m not worried about our goaltending.'” <-

Anyone have a link to Cav's pregame presser today?
I was going to say the same thing why haven’t we seen any media Q/A sessions with players or coaches from Allentown

This will be the most raucous environment the program has ever played in front of. Penn State is going to come out flying. Need to weather the storm.

UConn cannot afford to take many penalties. Penn State power play will hurt them

UConn has had problems with fast skaters carrying speed through the neutral zone and into the offensive zone and then ripping off a shot for a goal while the defensemen are flat footed. It’s burned them multiple times, most notably against Wisconsin. Cannot allow Aiden Fink to burn them with his speed and skill

I still believe Tung should start. Never know when UConn will be in this position again and they need their best players on the ice. Tung is their best goaltender.

Win or lose, I am sure UConn will play a good game. They have all season long. Can’t ask much more than that. Drop the puck, and let’s see what happens. Should be a fun experience for the team.
