Maine came out and had a 3-0 lead after 2. I buy some into the "overtime high" theory or just general confidence however were it were 3-3 after 2 I think the wheels could have started to come off. Who is to know.

I do know an undeserving NU team won in 2018(?) after Lowell and PC went to a grind out 1-0 Lowell 3OT win where the entire game was decided on a loose puck slipping past the goaltender on an abject fluke puck to the middle. Lowell was gassed the next night and it showed.

If UConn had kept things closer I think the previous night's OT game would have started to loom but it didn't.
When you win on the ice, court or field…….it’s deserved. No griping about rest, injuries or “the refs”.

I missed what happened to Schandor. What was his injury? Is there any chance he will be back? If so, lucky he has the extra day to recover and get loose.

QU will be a helluva test. Clarkson beat them twice by switching to playoff hockey. It is unclear what what would happen if UConn tried to play run and gun with them. When Clarkson tried that in Hamden the score was 2-1 Q after one. Clarkson had to claw back into it.

If UConn gets past Q, I will be there on Sunday. Easily recognized in a Connecticut navy away sweater #18 with the name Krygier on the back. Please say hi if we bump into each other.

My husband just got an email from Quinnipiac offering fans the chance to order tickets for Allentown. Imagine that. He is somehow on Quinnipiac's mailing list for hockey. It might have been from CT Ice Tournament a couple of years ago.

My son a Q alum has not even gotten that.

Yup, gotta feel for USC losing JuJu Watkins, but I will not feel like UConn got an unfair break to the Women's Final Four if they are lucky enough to do that. How many years and how many times has that happened to the UConn Women? This is the first year in a very long time that UConn have been whole. And knock on wood that they stay that way.

To your point, I now have three data points where the team that was taken to OT the night before has won the next night in tournaments. Clarkson v Denver in the NCAA's in the late 1990's, (Clarkson had a bye and still lost), Cornell vs Clarkson last weekend in Placid, Maine vs. UConn last Friday. It's gotta be the high you get from winning in OT and advancing which makes you feel you can roll over the next opponent through shear will.

And you do.
I totally get that and I believe it, and have experienced it.

-> “We got a collective group of players who are really talented,” Cavanaugh said. “Are they first-round draft picks? No. We’ve only got three or four draft picks on our team, but they’re really good college hockey players and they play together, and in this sport, one of the few sports where hard work can overcome talent, playing connected can overcome talent.” <-

I'm a ten-year hockey season ticketholder, alumnus, and big fan of UConn hockey. But let's get serious. This is our FIRST venture to an NCAA tournament. UConn is a basketball school. Gampel is within easy walking distance of classrooms, Toscano...not so easy. Our women's basketball team has been in the tournament every year since 1988-1989. 23 Final fours, 11 National Championships.

Wow!! Gotta like that ....

I think the most relevant question is will Schandor play?
I believe that Hudson is the player in a walking boot in yesterday’s send-off video. Hopefully, that’s just a precaution and he’s good to go tomorrow.

I'd be shocked if he didn't play, will he be effective who knows.
