Every one of these things I have been to there have been plenty of scalper tix available.

yeah but do you really want to pay scalpers prices between the mainers and the penn staters. I'm pretty sure day of the scalp price will be like 150-200

Great:

Only if you were a blue line or ice lounge ticket holder got a chance to get tickets thru UConn.

So pissed I hung up on guy and still don’t know what sections even if I tried secondary market. Ughhh

If they make it to the second game there should be plenty of tix going for a discount. Fans of the two teams that got knocked out in the first round will unload their tix on the way out to scalpers who won't be able to get premium prices when sold, especially if it is Maine v UConn.

Isn't the blue line club student tickets?? I didn't trust UConn to have the tickets for us, so my husband ordered them. I think we're in 115 or 116. So donations mean nothing. OK.

I will see you there if UConn plays in the second game.

The upper deck area @ Toscano. Whatever that is called. Too much $$$ for me. Got a ticket for Fri in 202 for $63, but 93 after fees LoL.

What's the TV schedule for this tourney?

Really excited for this team to finally break through and get the invitation, not that it was doubt recently. A bit of a tough draw facing a team we know and who knows us. But the #2 seed was a pleasant surprise. Not that it matters much. Maine has a tough draw with the host program. Seems entirely possible to come out of this one. We've beaten Maine and Q and Penn State could put everything out there in the opener.

If that happens, anything can happen.

Yes that's it. The ticket price is the same, but the donation per seat is $1000.

I agree that this is a pretty difficult draw. QU sees us as horning in on their territory and will be loaded for bear. Maine is excellent and I’d rather not have play them again so soon. Penn State is the host, although it’s 3 hours from State College to Allentown so not exactly home. Admittedly they have lots of alumni both real and wannabe across the state.

One other thing though is don’t assume because a team plays hard on Friday they won’t recover by Sunday. Sometimes it goes the other way. You win a tough game and it gives you a boost even if you should be tired. It sort of happened with Maine last weekend I think.

Personally I do not see this as a particularly tough draw. They are all difficult. But UConn have beaten two out of three of the other teams. And the other is a 4 seed, albeit the home team. I have been to many of these things. Often with disappointment afterward. This is as good an opportunity as UConn will ever get.

More important than the draw is whether or not Schandor can play and if so can he do it at a high level. I’m more concerned about that than any of the opponents.

To your point, I now have three data points where the team that was taken to OT the night before has won the next night in tournaments. Clarkson v Denver in the NCAA's in the late 1990's, (Clarkson had a bye and still lost), Cornell vs Clarkson last weekend in Placid, Maine vs. UConn last Friday. It's gotta be the high you get from winning in OT and advancing which makes you feel you can roll over the next opponent through shear will.

And you do.

Just wondering… do you think if Northeastern won that semifinal game vs Maine in double OT that they too would ride that vs UCon?. I’m not so sure that would have happened…Maine was the tougher matchup and had an axe to grind plus very very strong support. All speculation but UConn would have been a little looser since winning that game would have been the inly way NE was going to get to play in the NCAAs. Or would that desperation have carried NE?

Maine came out and had a 3-0 lead after 2. I buy some into the "overtime high" theory or just general confidence however were it were 3-3 after 2 I think the wheels could have started to come off. Who is to know.

I do know an undeserving NU team won in 2018(?) after Lowell and PC went to a grind out 1-0 Lowell 3OT win where the entire game was decided on a loose puck slipping past the goaltender on an abject fluke puck to the middle. Lowell was gassed the next night and it showed.

If UConn had kept things closer I think the previous night's OT game would have started to loom but it didn't.
