Why is the schedule just dribbling out now? Most schools have had their schedules out for a month.

Had to wait on PBA, PBA didn’t know until the Big East got their stuff together, Big East has to wait on NBA and NHL for a ton of their arena dates

UConn hockey is fourth in the PBA pecking order.................behind (in whatever order) UConn men's BB, UConn women's BB, Wolfpack...... plus concerts, Disney, etc. I am frankly thrilled that we get three high quality games (Ohio State, Lowell and BC) this year.

Thanks, AD Dave.

Hahaha ... I was scratching my head about "PBA". And by we, Viet, you mean west of the river I presume?

No, by “we” I mean any and all UConn fans, most notably those who are unable to get tickets to Toscano because of its small capacity.

Though I do live west of the river (Farmington), I am not one who complains about games in Storrs. I have season tickets to Toscano as well. I just wish it held 4,000, as originally promised to Hockey East.

This is one of the most balanced Hockey East schedules we've had. Prior to Christmas break we have six HE home games, five away. In the new year six HE home games, seven away.

What do you think? Is there room in HE for Quinnipiac, the only team in the ECAC that opted in?

I'd love them in HE, but I see some hurdles. Quinnipiac has it made in the less competitive ECAC, and might the Massachusetts-focused HE be holding the twelfth spot for Holy Cross, which is already a member on the women's side?

If not QU, I much prefer Sacred Heart to Holy Cross. BTW, if you haven't been to SHU's new Martire Family Arena, it's beautiful. Almost 1,000 greater capacity (3,600) than Toscano, continuity throughout the bowl, great sightlines, wide concourses and padded seats.

My kid played in a tournament there back in May. Really impressive place right off the Merritt where GE used to be.

You would think that, but Yale and Union won their natties before QU won one. And Cornell had a nice run this year trying to postpone Shaefer;s retirement.

One change to this post is to scratch the date for the game @ Providence on Sat 2/7. The correct date for that game is Sat 3/7. Confirmed by the Providence website and the Hockey East Composite Schedule.

UConn will travel to Maine for a pair of games at Alfond Arena, Friday February 13th and Saturday February 14th.
To all hockey fans:

If you haven't been to Alfond, make the trip. It's a great environment, and the student body (aka Maineiacs) is a sight to behold.

Didn’t we have to go up there for 2 last season?

Doesn’t really seem fair that we have to go up there for a weekend series two years in a row. That’s a heavy lift for any team.

Yes we do. Better be two years in a row at Storrs starting next year or the Metro Boston ("Down East" Maine included) bias will display its ugly head once again.

Yes, but there was also a game in Storrs because it was one of the 3x opponents.

It means basically 5 of last 6 vs Maine are road games (HET final was heavy Maine), is what it is. Next year it’ll be 2 only at UConn, then eventually 3 with 2 at UConn.
