kawhi leanord? nice. Shonn Miller looks like he could suit up for that 2011 sdsu team stocked with undersized hybrid pf's a la billy white etc. very excited to see him on the floor.

I don't think Shonn will have as great an impact as Sterling Gibbs, but I feel that he definitely is a missing piece found. For all the great things Brimah does for us, he is not a great rebounder. Hamilton provided a lot of that for us last year when we really had a problem against tough rebounding teams. I feel like we won't need to have Hamilton handle the ball as much as he did with Sterling and Jalen there, and he will be able to focus more on the wing where no one can guard him with Shonn inside. I'm sure there are many configurations that I'm missing that KO won't fail to roll out there but the great thing about getting experienced versatile players like Sterling and Shonn is all the ways you can use them in your line-ups. I think someone mentioned how much those experienced players Kromah and Giffey helped that team and I believe it will be the same with this one. And they will have some talented underclassmen to contribute to the overall product without having to carry the load. Although Boatwright did an amazing job carrying this team he didn't have enough experienced help that could contribute offensively. It was Hamilton and Purvis doing most of the heavy lifting and sometimes that wasn't enough. This year I believe we will have enough offensive help and defensive help for our returning starters to give us balance and we will have bench players who can contribute more than our bench could last year. I think we will be able to cause some real trouble for our opponents and they will not be able to push us around. Go Huskies!

He is perfect for what we need, gives us a ton of versatility. I don't care that Diamond Stone is considered one of the top freshman, Miller is a better pickup for us.

His intangibles are perfect for this team. Athletic, good defender, good rebounder, gets steals, blocks, deflections. Brings experience, toughness, and strength. Also a great finisher. Because of all this, I'm very excited to see him play. He'll do things that won't show up in the stat sheet, but will still be huge for us.

He'll be that glue guy a la Giffeye and Kromah as CTHUSKY74 mentioned above.

I loved what Giff and Kromah brought, but I think Miller could be significantly better.

As I tell both my kids.

You rebound too much.
You're defense is too good.
You're running too hard.

Said no coach ever.

Effort, energy, results. That's what I expect.

When opponents see Brimah going for blocks and Miller cleaning up the missed shots on the weakside, they're going to be shaking their heads. One thing opponents have counted on the past two seasons is that going hard at Brimah opened up offensive rebounding opportunities and second chance points. Miller needs to stop that.

Little combination of Giff and Kromah, more than likely not as much an outside threat but better inside. Also like Giff will be able to guard multiple positions with an impact on that end. As Zionn said he will be a special player for us I believe and one the fans will comfy up to really fast.

Kromah for sure, but senior year Giff is hard to top
Giff was a specialist on extremely low usage . While there's no chance miller stretches the floor like him , I hope he carries a higher usage and overall impact on both ends. More touches in the paint, more screen and rolling for him and mixing in the Giffey pop too. This isn't a bashing of Giffey , we just need miller to be a legit #1 option in the front court like daniels... It will help guys like purvis who aren't creators but iso /spot up players more or less

looking forward to him, I really hope he can be that missing piece that will allow us to play big effectively.

Quite frankly - it will be of interest to see how the on court chemistry works. This season Ollie definitely has a couple more weapons in his arsenal. We did lose our go to guy and you never quite know what that means until someone else becomes that guy. Even after watching the newcomers and returnees I still am not sure who that will be - is it Purvis, Hamilton or Gibbs? and my instincts say Adams is that type of guy - yet the conventional thinking is that a freshman won't be that guy.
So while I am very excited about the season - there are key unknowns even to the experience observer. As I stated earlier we need to quickly jell given our schedule - time will tell if that happens. I plan to start breaking things down in a few weeks.

I like that his FT % was about 84 % last year. With his size and agility make me think he might be perfect zone buster hitting jays from the elbow and ft lines.
