Yuck, dirty grey, oh excuse me, "platinum" per the announcers.

Looks like "dirty grey" to me.

Neither grey nor silver nor platinum are UConn's colors.

The basic design is fine; but I am one traditionalish who like to see the home team in a WHITE Uniform.

Typical Nike. They think they rule the world. I think they are disrespecting UConn traditions; and Geno should have the guts to tell Nike: "When the base color is WHITE, we will consider wearing them.

Well basically I think they overall effect is they look like crap. Especially with the combination with the red shoes & socks. That's about all I can say about it.

I like the traditional colors too. But it's a one game, 8 teams in the entire college basketball world get to wear it, type of deal. You'd think they'd make nicer looking uniforms though.

they should burn those uni's. fans can't be encouraged by the lackluster play in spite of Boatshow's return. gonna be a disappointing year for the men's team methinks...

.-.
I agree with the comments. Gray on gray is ridiculous. At least on TV, you can't see the numbers and the name of the team on the front is barely visible. These are the most pathetic uniforms. Nike designers should be ashamed of themselves.

“We feel we have the opportunity to create as much energy as they do on the football field,” said Tracy Teague, global creative director for Nike Basketball.

That ridiculous quote comes from the following linked article which seems to be saying that the unis will be worn only for one game. Let's hope that's so. And that we never see them again.

The unis have seriously messed with the men's mojo. Not a good sign.

Coach, the tradition (which I most certainly support) of home team always in white has disappeared in the NFL and NHL, so it may well be threatened in college basketball. UConn seems to change the style of its uniforms evey year and I wish theywould stop doing that.

Do not count on it being one game. Besides the women's uniforms do not even have the blue trim in the photos. The new uniforms being worn by the Huskies is one way to make Ohio State look better.

These new unis are UGLY! And that is being kind.

Apparently the reason the reason the uniforms are considered "green" is they have never been washed.

Time for the NCAA to investigate Nike and their influence on college basketball. While the investigation is going on, no team will wear Nike apparel.

Seems they give "gifts" to teams as well as to coerce teams to flaunt new items.

Considering the Boatwright saga, this investigation should last well past the play offs. Ugly, yes, but at least the shorts did not look like the usual women's skorts.

This is not the first time they've underperformed. The uniforms suck but it's not the uniforms that are making this team play so poorly.
I think the sneakers could have had an effect on their play...

IIRC several years ago the women lost while wearing new glitzy uniforms...and never wore them again. Does anyone recall this?

.-.
Absolutely, those uniforms were banished to one of the satellite schools.

I hope you guys arent that serious that the uniform is the reason teams lose.

the Men lost because ND made FT's, got OB's and hit 3's or maybe because I was at the game.

I would say the sneakers could have been a lil uncomfortable.

You know better than that DC, of course, it is the uniforms. Can't play pretty when you feel ugly. :p

Bottom line: they are ugly and don't reflect the school colors. My opinion of Nike because of their lack of concern for us as fans has changed to where I will never buy another Nike product for me or my family. Are they the only show in town?

geesh its that serious... wow

Lot's of other reasons to not buy Nike equipment anyway.

Lot's used to doubly aggravate Wonkster. :D

I read the article and I believe that Nike has taken chutzpah to a new (low) level by their grandiose statements about these disgusting uniforms.

Beyond my opinion of Nike, I am extremely disappointed in the person at UConn who bought into this harebrained scheme. The players look silly running about in laughable attire that serves only to promote and glorify Nike.

The words I have for Nike are harsh enough. The words for that Nike toady in the athletic department or school administration that allows this nonsense are the ones that would get me deleted and deported. To Knoxville or Siberia.
