"I think as we get closer to the season," Hurley said on Wednesday, "there's an intensity level, a nastiness, a mean streak that you have to have as a big guy, because you've got to be a great screener, you've got to protect your team's rim, and you've got to dominate the backboards. In order to do that, you've got to have an edge."
Does Reed have that edge in him?
"He does have it in him," Hurley said. "I think he's got an alter-ego. The most important thing is that he's got a lot of talent and a lot of confidence. And he's improving a lot."
He’s a really good kid. I can tell you the team’s affection for him is genuine. And they take care of him: he has spent A LOT of time behind the bench at home games. Love the good vibes around the program.
